The Madras High Court's Madurai bench on Saturday directed the parents of the 17-year-old girl who died by suicide on Wednesday - after alleging abuse and attempts to convert her to Christianity - to collect her body and conduct last rites.
A 17-year-old school girl in Tamil Nadu died on Wednesday, days after she drank poison alleging abuse by her hostel warden and an attempt to convert her family to Christianity.
The school had allegedly forced Lalita to convert to Christianity saying that she has to change her religion if she wanted to study further. But the girl refused.
