Kitchener has officially been named a pet friendly city. One of the advocates for the certification says that could mean big things for bringing people to the area and one researcher says it's an opportunity for the region to promote itself to a niche segment of the population: Pet parents.
The petition by Dog Friendly KW has already collected hundreds of signatures. It refers to the dog-friendly transit policies in other cities like Toronto, Montreal and Calgary and wonders why there aren't similar dog-friendly policies in Waterloo region.
