Aussie partner named new HSF chair By Jerome Doraisamy|10 March 2021 The partnership of Herbert Smith Freehills has elected an Australian as its new senior partner and chair of the firm’s global council. Rebecca Maslen-Stannage (pictured) – who won Dealmaker of the Year at the 2019 Australian Law Awards – has been appointed as senior partner and chair of the global LLP council for Herbert Smith Freehills. Ms Maslen-Stannage joined HSF in 1994 and has served on the firm’s global council from 2012 to 2019, including as deputy senior partner from 2015. A partner in M&A and capital markets, she will continue to maintain her practice as well as perform the role of chair and senior partner.
