MOULTRIE, Ga. â Members of the Colquitt County Special Response Team aided Doerun police Monday with a man who locked himself inside a home after a domestic incident.
Officers of the Doerun Police Department were dispatched in response to the domestic dispute between a female and a male roommate, according to DPD Police Chief Frank Pierce.
Pierce said Tyler Lee Smithwick, 29, and his female roommate had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated when Smithwick assaulted the woman. Authorities said Smithwick, formerly of Meigs, had been living at the residence less than a week.

MOULTRIE, Ga. â A man affiliated with a criminal street gang known as the âKiller Kracker Pride,â was indicted by the Colquitt County Grand Jury in three separate cases and accused by the District Attorneyâs Office in another.
Tyler James Weeks of Moultrie both individually and with co-conspirators faces multiple charges in the four separate cases. Each case has been brought forth in a joint effort by both the Colquitt County Sheriffâs Office and the Moultrie Police Department, according to court documents.Â
Information was not readily available on all cases from the primary investigators, which includes Investigator George Newton of the MPD, Investigator Channing McDowell of the CCSO Drug Enforcement Team, Justin Searcy also of the CCSO DET and Investigator Kat Johnson of the Colquitt County Criminal Investigation Division.Â
