Theyre calling it one of the worst storms in history. Nearly eighty Million People are dealing with the massive blizzard thats pounding the east coast. New york, philadelphia and baltimore are seeing record levels of snow. And while the white stuff is piling up there along the coast, theyre flooding. Craig boswell has the latest from washington dc. C. pkg a strong winter storm paralyzed cities from the gulf coast to new england. The blinding snow caused a 30 mile back up on i75 in kentucky. Hundreds of drivers were stranded in freezing temperatures for hours. Further north, more than 500 cars and buses carrying temple universitys gymnastic squad and the duquesne Mens Basketball Team were stuck in a massive gridlock on the snow mobiles had no problem plowing through the 24 inches that slammed baltimore. A family of a family of seven is homeless tonight, after an Early Morning fire in cedar rapids. It happened around 3 am on the 33 hundred block of stwood drive northwest. Fire crews found the fire in a bedroom upstairs and were able to knock it out quickly. The home is unlivable right now because of water damage and a lack o oheat. No word yet on what caused the fire. The good news is nobody was hurt because working smoke alarms alerted the family and they got out safely. The American Red Cross is helping them, but volunteers also hit the streets today to make sure other lives will be spared. Spared.
