L-R Track and Field Hosts Lenoir-Rhyne Opener

The Lenoir-Rhyne Track and Field Teams competed in the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener Saturday.
On the women’s side, Olivia Jackson started off the day finishing 3rd in the hammer throw with a final mark of 40.47m. Kimberley Owens also placed 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 4.79m. Savannah Nippa and Jackson would then go back-to-back in discus throw 5th and 6th with throws of 32.99m and 32.97m. Maigan Bowman would follow this up with a 1st place finish in high jump with a 1.49m. Lakiya Joshua continued the momentum for LR in triple jump finishing 2nd with a 9.56m. Taylor Gardin would also show out in the shot put placing 2nd with a throw of 11.66m. Kylie Dahlberg then added to the success finishing 1st in the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:47.55.
