Nicole Scardino has been found not guilty of manslaughter and dangerous driving causing death, in the 2018 death of Sam Andrews, in the driveway of a West Street home.
A 12-person jury handed down its verdict just after 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening, less than 12 hours after receiving instructions from Justice Robert Scott.
Scardino, now 47, was first charged with second degree murder after the incident in June of 2018 when Andrews was hit by Scardino’s car, following an argument between the pair. But those charges were lessened to manslaughter last year.
The jury heard witness testimony over the course of a three week trial and closing arguments were given on Thursday.

The jury in the manslaughter trial of a 47-year-old Quinte West woman has heard closing submissions from both sides and is expected to begin deliberating by the weekend.
Both the Crown and defence presented final arguments to jurors, in the case of Nicole Scardino, who is accused of hitting her former partner Sam Andrews with her car, outside a home on West Street on June 16, 2018.
Andrews, who was 49 at the time of the incident, died at the scene and Scardino was originally charged with second degree murder, but that charge was lessened to manslaughter last year.
