Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh has recommended nine additional judges, including one woman, for appointment. The move comes amid concerns over the lack of representation of women and minority communities in the superior courts of Pakistan. The Chief Justice of Pakistan has summoned a meeting of the Judicial Commission to consider the nominees on March 16.
“It is in the interest of justice and for the prestige of the superior judiciary that no case be fixed before the judge in question,” says complainant.
