Court Of Appeal Affirms Ebonyi  Governor s Election, Dismisses PDP Appeal

The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has affirmed the election of Francis Nwifuru as the duly elected governor of Ebonyi State in the March 18 governorship election. The three-member panel presided over by Justice Jummai Sankey, in its unanimous decision, on Friday, dismissed the appeal filed by Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party. The panel also resolved all the five issues raised against the appellant and dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has called on Nigerian security agencies to fish out the killers of Dr Yakubu Sankey, the husband of Appeal Court Justice Jummai Hannatu Sankey.       Sankey, a former Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, Plateau State, was reportedly murdered on Friday.
