The lawyer for a businessman fighting N.B. Liquor in court is questioning whether the Crown corporation signed a settlement with a fired employee that would stop her from co-operating with the lawsuit as a whistleblower.
A purported whistleblower who was said to have “alarming” evidence of “serious breaches and irregularities” at the New Brunswick Liquor Corporation now says she never made the claims attributed to her in court last year.
The New Brunswick Court of Appeal has allowed an appeal by His Tabernacle Family Church and several officials accused of ignoring the province's pandemic rules.
The legal applications are starting to pile up in the case of His Tabernacle Family Church, a Saint John church accused of violating the province's Mandatory Order and violating an agreement with the court to abide by the rules.
