KUALA LUMPUR: Former Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy has been ordered to pay more than RM1mil in damages for defaming controversial preacher Dr Zakir Naik.
KUALA LUMPUR: A law firm withdrew itself from representing the mother of fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, in the US$3.7837bil suit filed by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
The High Court (civil division) on Tuesday (March 15) granted a Mareva injunction sought by 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and its four subsidiaries to bar a total of US$1.432 billion from being transferred or dissipated by fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho (aka Jho Low) and his father Tan Sri Larry Low Hock Peng from Malaysia or elsewhere.
