MUMBAI: A two-judge bench of Bombay high court on Wednesday delivered a split verdict on the validity of a rule under the amended Information Technolo.
Justice Gautam Patel of the Bombay High Court held that the proposed Fact Check Unit under the 2023 amendment to the Information & Technology Rules 2021 directly infringed fundamental rights under.
As per the existing convention the case will now be referred to a third judge by the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court. It was orally told in the court that the Chief Justice may take sometime to allocate the case to a third judge.
