Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, an ex-officio JBC member, said the submission online or physical of the documentary requirements for those who applied or who were nominated would have to be completed on or before Feb. 26.
It was not known why the original Feb. 15 deadline was extended.
Under the rules, the five most senior SC justices are automatically nominated to the post of Chief Justice. However, once nominated they have to accept their nominations.
