After a yearlong backlog of criminal cases in different counties, the court system in New York state is showing signs of picking up some lost momentum.
On Monday, the state s chief judge, Janet DiFiore, announced plans are being developed to increase in-person court operations where possible and to tentatively resume a limited number of jury trials statewide. In the state s judicial district that includes parts of the Southern Tier, some jury trials could be scheduled as soon as March 22.
