The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) began the search for a new Supreme Court judge, with Justice Said Chitembwe being the first candidate to face the panel.
Justice Chitembwe, who was trying his luck a second time after losing to Court of Appeal Judge Martha Koome for the Chief Justice position, yesterday told the commission corruption in the Judiciary was so high that it would not be an easy task to get rid of it.

I will not bring in any new agenda to the Judiciary, High Court Judge Said Chitembwe and candidate for Chief Justice position has told the Judicial Service Commission.
Justice Chitembwe (

Chitembwe replied he would seek to build on what his predecessors David Maraga and Willy Mutunga did when they held the position.
He further noted that he knew where the weaknesses were and what areas needed to be enhanced, without going into more details.
