Brittany Pidgeon is seeking answers from Crown prosecutors and the Edmonton Police Service after she says they botched her son’s case, leading to the stayed charges.

The mother of a truck driver stabbed to death during a botched robbery nearly six years ago forgave her son’s killer in an Edmonton courtroom Tuesday.
Richard William Rockey, 49, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for his role in the 2015 death of Randal Evans, a trucker from Olds.

Evans was sleeping in his cab when Rockey and two other men broke into the truck. Evans fought them off and managed to start the vehicle when Rockey leapt onto the running board and bashed in the driver’s side window with a pipe.
