2021 will probably go down in history as another "lost year," due to the pandemic. It felt like another year of waiting, another year of tension, as we held on to survive through the ongoing waves of cases and shutdowns. The pandemic affected our lives in so many ways, whether it be the illness itself, or loss of loved ones, or the financial impacts due to closings and layoffs. For all of us who are still standing here today, perhaps a bit worse for wear, I say, cheers, because year two of this "collective dark night" was a lot to handle.

A local bakery owner competed in the cooking show competition, Chopped Sweets, recently.
Libby Ryan, owner of Just Baked Cake Studio & Bakery in Paso Robles, participated in the pastry version of Chopped.
The segment she was featured on was Bejeweled and Bedazzled where competitors are faced with three rounds of different baking techniques.
The three rounds included: candied, baked and frosted.
Ryan says some of the challenges on the show included being in a different kitchen and trying not to trip over all the camera cables.

A relaxed, rural feel is well maintained, and the classic California vibe is one of Paso’s greatest attractions. But these days, the region’s proliferation of wineries, wine tasting rooms, haute cuisine, and luxe accommodations provide Paso Robles with a posh profile that is sure to gratify the most well-traveled visitor.
