our next guest helped organize the demonstrations. matthew body professor at university of north georgia, heads the georgia conference of american association of university professors. doctor, so good to see you. thanks so much. you organized these demonstrations for mask mandates and vaccines on so many campuses. how have you been able to do that and who has been involved? well, we have a great network of aaup chapter leaders, people that stepped up that wanted to be point persons on campus. i custody them could they do it, they certainly said yes so they could organize speakers, rallies for the week long which i don t think has been done before. we have a lot of help around the state. that s what we wanted was statewide message to the university system. georgia colleges and universities, the hands are kind of tied on campus, right, on this issue, they have to follow guidance from usg, university
and they chose to falsify my report and to not only minimize my abuse but silence me yet again. usa gymnastics and the united states olympic and paralympic committee and the fbi have all betrayed me and those who were abused by larry nassar after i reported. the fbi and others within usg and uspc knew that nassar molested children. wednesday the most deorated gymnast of all time, simone biles, asked the same question when three years ago, she made the world aware of nassar s abuse. i ask that you be guided by what rachel and others have asked. how much is a little girl worth? how much is a little girl worth? how much are these women worth? the truth is you don t know how many little girls would be saved by the deterrent message i am asking you to send.
united states safe sports and to say i also think that umm, whatever can be done to have all three, umm, usg, and the fbi, and the opi to be investigated. the fbi says that it was investigated, but the scope of the investigation is not acceptable, and it needs to be completely independent and back decades and nobody and nothing is off limits and until we know the answers to that, we don t know who to hold accountable, and there may still be people there who are still in positions of power. and prosecution.
