PLANS are afoot to demolish buildings in order to transform a prominent site in the west of the district Proposals have already been submitted for a petrol station, two drive-through restaurants and a two-storey hotel have been put forward to rejuvenate the dilapidated land at the Hadrian Enterprise Park site in Haltwhistle. However, the initial proposal of 79 homes as part of the original scheme was dropped to much contention. Now, further plans have been submitted to demolish units on the site in order to accommodate the new proposals. Manchester-based Juniperhawk Ltd is asking Northumberland County Council for determination to whether the prior approval of the authority will be required ahead of the demolition of multiple units and the restoration of the site.
