BYRAM, NEW JERSEY, A little over two years ago, the Boy Scouts of America (“BSA”) opened up membership in its flagship program, the “Boy Scouts” (11-17 years old) to young women and rebranded it to “Scouts BSA.” The response has been enormous with troops of young women forming throughout the United States, and scouts advancing through the ranks. One such troop, Troop 1150, is chartered to Sparta United Methodist Church and has close to thirty
five Scouts, who are actively engaged in the Scouting program, which includes,
inter alia, hiking, camping, aquatics, leadership and community service.
On Saturday, May 8, 2021, Troop 1150 will host its first Eagle Scout Court of Honor for three of its seven members of the Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts.
