We round up all the best events and things to do that Cornwall has to offer in May. From art to dinosaurs, there s something for everyone!
1. Bluebell Festival, 1st - 9th May
Enys is a fantastic place to visit at any time of the spring and summer, with plenty of woodlands and gardens to explore. But every May, their Parc Lye is covered by a sea of blue which makes for a uniquely atmospheric and magic walk. The park is open from 11am to 5pm every day for the festival and pre-booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
Of the 76 entrants that won or were commended, 34 were Cornish-based businesses, doing the Duchy proud. Among these, gold awards were given out to Treseren wedding venue, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, The Sanctuary bed and breakfast, The Pandora Inn, and Landal Gwel a Mor Resort. The Sanctuary also picked up a special Water Conservation Award. Buddock Vean Hotel also added yet more awards to it s growing collection by taking silver in the Large Hotel of the Year category. Sponsored by South West Water, the awards programme opened for entry in March 2020 and, with plenty of adaptations and extensions along the way, it concluded on 22 April 2021.
