The staff of the Juneau Community Foundation Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Community Foundation has news on the latest round of Juneau Hope Endowment Fund and City and Borough of Juneau Social Service Grant Program awards.
Executive Director Amy Skilbred said on Action Line that they are now announcing the seventh year of these grants. She said it s been about $2 Million a year since 2015. So over $14 Million has gone out to social service and health non-profits in Juneau since that time.
This year 24 organizations are receiving grants that total $2.1 million. Skilbred said the grants will cover mental health, suicide prevention, domestic violence, substance misuse abuse, hospice, homelessness, health, and education.
Staff of Juneau Community Foundation Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau Community Foundation has announced the third round of grants for its Covid-19 response fund.
Executive Director Amy Skilbred says $50,000 goes to the Juneau Care Meals Program operated by the United Way of Southeast Alaska.
Nearly $22,000 is for the Safe Space for Food Program operated by Shepherd of the Valley and Resurrection Lutheran Churches.
There s a $15,000 grant to support opening a Juneau Youth Shelter. The need was identified by the Juneau Coalition on Housing and Homelessness.
Skilbred says the grants were made possible from over 250 donations
