The PMC has realized that lot of residential properties are used as hostel, paying guest and as guest house for accommodating large number of student population of the city.
The defaulters mainly include commercial properties and a few government offices. The mobile tower defaulters who account for tax dues of Rs 2,270 crore have obtained a stay from the Bombay High Court.
Yogesh Hendre, acting Public Relation Officer of the PMC, said, “The tax on property is accepted without levying penalty till May end every year. However, this year the deadline is June end.”
