AME Church historical documentary features Mother Emanuel pastor Clementa Pinckney
The AME Church is highlighting the documentary along with another about the history of its major quadrennial meetings, as producers work on a third film.

(RNS) The African Methodist Episcopal Church has released a short film online about its history that includes an interview with the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the pastor killed in a 2015 attack on his South Carolina church, in which he talks about the historically Black denomination’s significance.
“Our church and every good AME pastor knows that we’re not just concentrating on getting people to heaven,” the pastor told the filmmakers of “The Spirit of African Methodism” shortly before his death.

Bethel AME was planning to host a pop-up J&J clinic at their church this Saturday. The event is in partnership with the Florida Department of Health. Now, they ve pivoted to giving out 600 Pfizer vaccines this weekend. There are still about 300 spots left.
