18-year-old girl sets boyfriend ablaze in Benue
A corps member serving in Akwa Ibom State, Chidinma Pascaline Oduma, has been arrested for allegedly hacking a man to death in his house.
She was caught while trying to jump the fence of the compound where the man lived. It was learnt that irate mob caught her, beat and stripped her naked after the victim was found dead.
Eyewitnesses’ account claimed Oduma macheted and killed her victim after several cuts on his stomach and face.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Odiko Macdon, said the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme, had ordered that a discreet investigation be carried out on the incident.

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has nabbed 200 suspects over illicit drugs weighing 2,083,369 kilogrammes.
The arrests and seizures were spread over the course of January to December 2020, the state command explained at its headquarters in Yola on Monday.
The State Commander of the NDLEA, Idris Bello, told newsmen that the command raided numerous drug hideouts, including Bola Joint in Viniklang in Girei LGA, and other hideouts in Wuro Jabe (Yola South LGA), Yola Market (also in Yola South), Gurin in Fufore LGA, Galadima Aminu Way in Yola North LGA, among other places.
The Akwa Ibom State police command on Monday confirmed the arrest of a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Odume Paschaline, who allegedly hacked her male friend to death in the state.
RipplesNigeria had reported how Paschaline, a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, was beaten and stripped naked by a mob before she was taken away by the police on Sunday.
The command’s spokesman, Odiko Macedon, who confirmed the development to journalists in Uyo, said the corps member was arrested because she “killed one Akwaowo.”
He said: “We got a distress call, we responded to that distress call at 219 Abak Road, Uyo. When we got there they were on the verge of lynching her (the corps member), so we had to rescue her. Preliminary investigation revealed that she and the guy went out to the guy’s house. She said the guy brought out a machete and said he wanted to kill her. She said she acted in self-defence, picked up the machete, and used it on him.
