A former leader of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), one of the nation’s leading conductors, and a child prodigy destined for a glittering career in music will headline the first of Wexford Sinfonia’s 30th anniversary concerts in the National Opera House on Sunday, January 28. Having finished his tenure with the NSO nine years ago, Alan Smale acted as ‘guest leader’ for the Sinfonia and has remained an integral part of the group ever since.
