Teesside University s LGBT+ initiatives create inclusive environment

AS February is host to an annual observation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, a university has ensured that despite lockdown and social-distancing guidelines, the recognition and acknowledgement of LGBT+ history still continues. Although the pandemic has meant activities have been considerably different this year, Teesside University felt it was still an important time to reflect on the history of gay rights and the related civil rights movements. Here Juliet Amos, Executive Director of Human Resources at Teesside University and the university’s Executive LGBT+ Champion, explains some of the initiatives which help to make Teesside an inclusive and supportive university, as well as her hopes to bring Pride to the Tees Valley region.
