Dundee United 3 Livingston 0: Tangerines produce best display of season as Adrian Sporle's early strike and Lawrence Shankland double send them back into top six

© SNS Group Lawrence Shankland makes it 2-0. Dundee United strode confidently back into the top six with their best performance of the season so far. Both teams were reduced to 10 men on a freezing cold day at Tannadice but the Tangerines were looking on course for three points before the cards came out. Indeed, Micky Mellon’s men took just 49 seconds to get ahead against Livingston, with Adrian Sporle finishing off an excellent move with a fine strike. It looked worrying for them when Peter Pawlett was sent off just after the half-hour but they responded superbly by going 2-0 up through Lawrence Shankland before the break.

Brown sent-off as Celtic held by Livingston reserves

Updated / Wednesday, 20 Jan 2021 22:49 Celtic s Scott Brown (L) is sent off Neil Lennon s angry rebuke of Celtic s Dubai critics failed to provoke a response from his players as they were held to another damaging 2-2 draw by a second-string Livingston outfit. The furious Parkhead boss let rip on Monday as he claimed his club had been hit with a barrage of absolute hypocrisy in the wake of their controversial winter training camp. If it was designed to show his players he was still up for the fight of salvaging their 10-in-a-row dreams, it did not work. Celtic did battle back from Ciaron Brown s opener with goals from Mohammed Elyounoussi and Nir Bitton.
