THERE WAS DISAPPOINTMENT for Jim Goodwin and St Mirren as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Livingston in today’s Betfred Cup semi-final.
St Mirren are coached by former Irish international Goodwin, and a team featuring Conor McCarthy, Joe Shaughnessy, Dylan Connolly and Jamie McGrath were beaten in a game decided by Scott Robinson’s ninth-minute goal.
Livingston – with Jaze Kabia an unused substitute – will meet St Johnstone in the final at the end of February, and David Martindale has enjoyed the best introduction to management imaginable since stepping up to replace Gary H
