Both new RackStation units boast higher performance than their predecessors. The RS2421(RP)+ gets a 103% and 161% boost to random write and read IOPS speeds, while the RS2821(RP)+ delivers 115% and 162% higher random write/read IOPS.
Both devices can be fitted with a dual-port Synology 10GbE or 25GbE NIC for better throughput, or a Synology M.2 adapter card and NVMe SSDs to create a speedy cache. Each rackmount also comes with a three year warranty, which can be extended to five years.

Synology has released two new enterprise-grade M.2 NVMe SSDs for data caching and two high-bandwidth NICs to increase the performance of its NAS storage solutions.
Available with 800GB of storage capacity both the SNV3400-800G and the SNV3500-800G are used for caching large data sets, increasing the performance of HDD-based arrays in a NAS. With a rated random read/write performance of 375K/70K IOPS and an endurance rating of 0.68 DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day) and 500TBW, the SNV3000 series SSDs are compatible with Synology’s DiskStation Manager, allowing users to monitor their drives performance, lifetime analytics, and lifespan.
