The
Imagine Van Gogh immersive exhibition currently at the Vancouver Convention Centre is big 25,000 square feet big, to be exact.
The concept was to expand the artist’s famous images to sky-high proportions, blanketing the walls, the floor and the ceiling with the swirls and daubs of colour. At the entrance to the show, a convention centre employee gave me the rundown of how to behave while inside don’t touch the walls, stay six feet apart from others, no flash photography, and don’t lie down on the floor. I laughed at the last one, and in response he offered, “You’d be surprised.”

Vincent Van Gogh will make a big splash in Boston later this year.
Not one â but two â immersive exhibits featuring works by the post-Impressionist painter will welcome visitors in 2021. Both digital experiences will project swirling brush strokes and vibrant colors onto floors, walls, and ceilings. Both will offer art-deprived audiences the chance to see larger-than-life versions of âStarry Nightâ and âBedroom in Arles.â And both shows are eerily similar to the exhibit featured in the Netflix hit âEmily in Paris.â
Starting Dec. 21, visitors to the SoWa Power Station will be able to experience an immersive exhibition that transports them into more than 200 of the Dutch artist’s paintings.
