tolerate it when her 13-year-old son beau gets into the car that day, he has no idea what his mother has in mind. as they begin the drive home, beau starts talking back to his mom. julie takes out the gun and fires one shot through the windshield of their minivan. startled, beau asks her to put the gun away. but she turns it on him instead, shooting him twice in the head. julie then drives home, parks the car in the garage with her dead son still in the passenger seat and goes inside. she finds her 16-year-old daughter calyx upstairs working on the computer. julie shoots calyx once in the back of the head and once in the face. it appeared that the children never saw it coming. she then uses the computer chair to roll her daughter into the other room. placing calyx s body on the bed.
judge jeanine: of course, when the police get to the home, what do they find? well, we went to the front door, there was no answer. we went around to the back of the house and we found julie schenecker lying out on the pool deck. when they called out her name, she immediately sat up. she was dressed in a robe and slippers. and the officers immediately noticed that there was blood on her clothing. she became somewhat combative at that point and was demanding to know what the officers were doing there at her house. one of the officers restrained her and the second officer began searching the house. first they found calyx upstairs. she had been shot twice. and a short time later he found beau out in the garage, still in the family car where he had been shot and killed. judge jeanine: of course, when officers went to the front door, before they went around the back, laura, and found julie schenecker, was there something on the front door that they were able to read? yes. there was
bullets into her head. [gunshots] judge jeanine: schenecker plans to kill herself, but the next morning tampa police find her laying on the patio next to the pool, covered in blood. she appears to be drugged or drunk. upstairs, in the computer room, a pool of blood. following a trail across the hall to calyx s room police find her dead in bed, covered by a blanket. in the garage, they find beau. still in the passenger seat of the van where he was shot. julie is arrested and charged with murder. detectives canvas the home and make a number of discoveries. there are post-it notes methodically placed throughout the home listing reasons why julie killed her kids. entering the master bedroom, they find the 38 smith and wes son sitting on the dresser next to the box it came in.
