Dec. 29 meeting
KEY ACTION Auditor Julie Pearch announced that she is holding the Claymont Income Tax payment to Dennison. At the Dec. 10 meeting, council voted to pay Dennison an agreed percentage of taxes from the Claymont agreement up to the end of 2020. Auditor Pearch said she asked the State Auditor for an opinion and is waiting for his response. She also believes that making the payment “creates a liability to the City of Uhrichsville and her office.”
OTHER ACTION Council voted to give the remainder of the CARES Act money to two local organizations. The amount of $12,942.52 will be split between the Twin City Christian Service Center, which is the local food pantry, and Claymont City Schools.

Uhrichsville Mayor Mark Haney returned fire in his issue with Council at Thursday night s meeting.
At the Nov. 23 meeting, Council President Robert Cottrell read a statement stating that Haney tried to remove the city from an agreement made with Dennison and Claymont Board of Education over the tax income on the Claymont High School. Cottrell stated Haney had acted without council’s knowledge or approval and the agreement stands until council makes a decision otherwise.
At Thursday s meeting, Haney issued a statement in rebuttal to Cottrell’s previous comments about Haney sending a notice to Dennison cancelling the agreement.
