The Fairfield Lions Club earlier this week held their meeting at the Community of Christ Family Life Center as they hosted their Star Student Banquet. The club chose Sara McGeehee as the Star Student of the Year. McGeehee selected Ashli Legg as the Elementary Teacher of the Year and Melissa Kiefer as the High School Teacher of the Year. Ashli Legg was McGeehee's 1st-grade teacher while Melissa Kiefer was McGeehee's English teacher at the high school. Being named Star Student of the Year, Sara McGeehee received a plaque and a check for $400 to help with college expenses. The Fairfield Lions Club also recognized Julie Musgrave as the Lions Club Educator of the Year. Musgrave is a first grade teacher at North Side School. Musgrave received a plaque and a check for $250 to use for her classroom. Lions Club officials say the dinner was well attended as nearly 50 teachers and administrators were in attendance as well as Lions Club Members.
