We hear them crying, their tears, they are desperate. It is real, it is very real. We will be hearing from people still on the island and what is happening now and what will happen next. This is nbc bay area tonight. I am jessica aguirre. We will start with the Deadly Wildfires on maui. The scope of just how bad things are is still coming into focus as we speak. Many of those who lost their homes and businesses are seeing what is left for the first time. The number of People Killed continues to rise. Officials now confirming that 67 people have died and so many more are missing. The National Guard among those on the ground. The guard going house by house and block by block in the town of lahaina. The majority of the structures are gone. Among those who lost everything, parkman and his family. He and his wife are in the bay area when the fire hit. Their youngest daughter stayed safe by literally getting in the ocean. Today they returned to lahaina to find everything that they own gone.
At least 67 people have been killed in a wildfire that tore through Hawaii on Tuesday. The town of Lahaina has been worst affected, with thousands left homeless after the rapidly-moving fire left little warning for residents.
