The project will support small- and medium-scale energy activities across Pakistan to boost economic growth.
It will encourage more private investment in the energy sector, with a focus on low-cost, renewable energy sources, which are critical to expanding economic growth.
“Sustainable, low-cost energy is a key ingredient in the country’s economic development. Harnessing the power of private sector investment will generate economic growth and create new jobs,” said USAID mission director Julie Koenen.
“This project will complement the Pakistani government’s efforts in facilitating a cleaner, cheaper, more climate friendly, and sustainable energy mix for Pakistan,” said Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam.

The United States and Pakistan have created two initiatives to improve health security and disease monitoring in Pakistan. One introduces an innovative method of evaluating the safety and effectiveness of medicine, and the other will increase the country’s ability to monitor the spread of infectious disease.

The platform, called the Pakistan Integrated Regulatory Information Management System will help Pakistani companies easily apply for permission to produce a medicine, as well as bring safe and effective medicines to market more quickly at a much lower cost.
