1600 Ponce De Leon Drive, Fort Lauderdale (Google Maps) The founder of a technology firm and his wife sold their waterfront Fort Lauderdale mansion for $16.8 million, a nearly 50 percent discount off its original listing price nine years ago. Records show Donald K. and Rebecca M. McKinney sold the home at 1600 Ponce De Leon Drive to PC UT Holdings, a Delaware corporation. Rachel Alexander of Whitaker Realty, the buyer’s agent, said the true buyer is from out of state, but she declined to provide further details. Donald McKinney founded International Network Services, a Mountain View, California-based network consulting and security services provider, in 1991. According to the New York Times, Lucent Technologies bought International Network Services in 1999 for $3.7 billion in stock. After the deal, McKinney’s stake was worth nearly $1.2 billion.

Records show Glenn C. Rice and his wife, Cynthia Anne Hoy, sold their home at 2700 Aqua Vista Boulevard to 2518 LLC, a Delaware corporation tied to Chicago-based investment firm Skydeck Capital. Rice is the president of MetronomX, a drug development company he co-founded in 2010, headquartered in Houston. Rice was formerly president and COO of pharmaceuticals company Pharmacyclics and was the vice president of research at ILEX Oncology, which was sold for $1 billion in 2004, according to MetronomX’s website.

Costello and his wife, Christine, sold the mansion at 1001 Hillsboro Mile to Raymond Mirra Jr. and Shauna Mirra. Raymond Mirra Jr. is the CEO of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania-based Ram Capital Group. He was formerly a co-founder of Los Angeles-based Cell-Matrix, which was acquired by CancerVax Corp. in 2002, according to a published report in BioWorld from that time. Anthony “Tony” Costello is the co-founder and CEO of Rule One Proteins, a protein powder and nutrition supplement manufacturer based in Aurora, Illinois.

Sitting on 0.68 acres of land with 100 feet of ocean frontage, the Geogian-style house has 12,640 square feet of living space with six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and four half bathrooms, according to the listing with Julie Jones-Bernard of Florida Luxurious Properties. The property was listed in June for $21.495 million and went into contract in November. It closed for $20.4 million Tuesday, according to listing records.
