Western Illinois University Building Service Worker Charles Eddington has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Year for 2022.
There was an estimated $7,000 in total damages but no injuries reported in a two-vehicle collision in Jefferson Monday. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene at Clark and Vine Streets at approximately 3:04 p.m. James Hager of Jefferson was northbound on Vine Street in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. As he entered the Clark Street intersection, he was struck by a 2015 Kia Optima, driven by Julie Derry of Grand Junction. Derry told authorities she attempted to brake when she saw the truck, but hit the accelerator by mistake. There was approximately $1,000 in damage to the Silverado and $6,000 in damage to the Kia.
