Jessie Frees got her first radio gig in 1951 as a New Jersey schoolgirl on a New York Times-owned station. Seventy years later, the first lady of New Jersey s broadcast airwaves is still behind the microphone at age 88 and has no plans to sign off any time soon. I ll never give it up, said Frees, currently in her 27th year hosting the Ask the Expert hour every Sunday morning on WMTR-AM radio in Hanover, followed by the Your New Jersey Connection political panel talk show hosted by her daughter, Julie Briggs. Her list of A-list interview guests is endless: from Bob Hope and Helen Hayes to Tony Bennett, Tony Randall and Liberace.
