In celebration of the holiday season, we asked Patch readers to send us photos of their handmade gingerbread house creations. And, boy, were we impressed! The entries included edible replicas of local landmarks, a gingerbread greenhouse and even Hogwarts Castle. Check out some of our favorites below, and you might even be inspired to create your own.

Have you ever seen Mrs. Claus greenhouse? Created from a handmade pattern with gelatin windows, this gingerbread greenhouse is where Mrs. Claus tends to the winter evergreens and poinsettias while Santa is busy loading his sleigh.

FLORIDA Decorations and food are great ways to spread holiday cheer, and a couple of Florida Patch readers have shown they ve got plenty of Christmas spirit. They submitted entries in Patch s gingerbread house contest, showcasing their talent and a little bit of whimsy.
One contestant created a lovely church decked out for Christmas with stained glass windows and snow, the other whipped up a winter scene with houses, reindeer and gingerbreadmen. These sweet treats are festive, creative and fun just what we needed at this time of year.
