Bradford Council makes changes to parking in Ilkley

BRADFORD Council says it is making improvements to parking in Ilkley today and tomorrow in time for the weekend in a bid to support shops and businesses reopening as part of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown. The changes being introduced were proposed as part of the consultation on the Ilkley Parking Review Phase Two and include an increase from half an hour free parking to an hours free parking in the town centre, and an increase in on-street parking to at least three hours and in some places four hours. Bradford Council will be contacting local businesses about the renewal of their business permits, and as previously announced the proposed charges will be waived for another year so they will just incur a basic administration fee of £10 a permit. The changes are all part of Bradford Council’s support for businesses as the economy re-opens. 1/1 A BRADFORD MP has criticised the Government for failing to deal with the cladding crisis after work has only just started on two Bradford buildings which were evacuated two years ago. Contractors began removing the Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding from Appleton Point, on Hamm Strasse, and Landmark House, on Broadway, in February, almost two years after both buildings had to be evacuated after failing fire safety inspections. Naz Shaw, MP for Bradford West, said: “The Government has failed to deal with the cladding crisis, and even after Grenfell, lessons have still not be learnt. Two years on and only now is the cladding being removed on these buildings, and this solely rests on the Government.
