Nearly $2 million in job training funds are coming to employers in southwest Michigan thanks to a grant being awarded to Michigan Works of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties. Agency Director Lily Brewer tells WSJM News it’s receiving a $1.98 million grant from Michigan’s Going PRO Talent Fund. The funds will be distributed to 55 employers in the region.
“There’s always going to be a need for more education and training, and it’s not for one specific industry, it’s for every industry,” Brewer said. “These funds come to us at such a critical time for local employers as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.”
