Prime Minister Boris Johnson will provide a further update on the easing of lockdown restrictions today. Mr Johnson is expected to confirm the next stage of lockdown easing in England will go ahead as planned, with measures to take effect in a week’s time. Step three of the road map out of lockdown is expected to begin from May 17 after the Government said the latest data confirms its four tests for easing Covid-19 restrictions have been met.

The UK theatre industry is reflecting today (16 March) on a year since it had to close its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The anniversary comes as a new survey from the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) reveals that over 95% of theatre organisations are worse off due to the pandemic, while one in four freelancers are currently out of business.
