They came back. Fire station 75 reopened today. We need them. The station has been mothballed two years, today it is open with funding from fema its being staffed by veterans and new graduates who were presented with the final piece of the uniforms. Just in time for what is the bay areas peak fire season. Were fortunate to be reopening this time of the year, this will be the highest fire danger. Some have seen that danger up close this year. As the fire went through it was hot. Chris was on the kin fire, a string of wild land fires exacerbated by the wildfires. We know its going to get warmer and drier and thats typically when we have a extreme fire season. Perfect time to hire more firefighters. Waiting for years for this. And get the station running again. So the Fire Protection district is using a 3 million safer grant to keep the station open. The same grant other stations have used to open their stations.
