ANGOLA â Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center, now under the ownership of Castle Healthcare, has opened a new dementia and Alzheimerâs care wing at its facility at 500 N. Williams St.
The wing was celebrated Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony that included several staff, area dignitaries and others wishing to get a look at the new facility.
Shai Berdugo, chief executive officer of Castle Healthcare, said the company came into Angola with âtremendous hopeâ and the goal of building on the wonderful history that Lakeland already had in place.
âWith the new dementia unit, we wanted to do something relevant that will really help care for the people of Angola,â he said.
ANGOLA â Business and nonprofit organization leaders from across Steuben County gathered at Glendarin Hills Golf Club Friday evening for the 8th Annual Ebbie Awards presented by the Angola Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dubbed the âEbbie Awards,â the Excellence in Business Accolades acknowledge the professionals that set the bar in their respective categories, as determined by community member votes.
Chamber member businesses are nominated by their peers, earning them recognition and prestige for their great contributions to their customers, the community and the Chamber itself.
The banquet returned after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
This yearâs awards banquet, held at the resort-style golf course, was sponsored by Cameron Memorial Hospital, which took home the honor of being recognized as the Best Business Contribution to the Community.
