Too Close s ending explained

Like the rainbow-coloured kite entangled in the tree outside her window, Connie (Denise Gough), too, felt ensnared, suffocated by her grief, and unable to haul herself out of the abyss. Almost killing herself and two young children, one of which was her own, by driving her car into a river will undoubtedly do that to you. It was an action so far removed from who the character in the ITV drama she used to be – a woman who had troubles and anxieties, but persisted nonetheless. Was she really the yummy mummy monster , a modern day Medea hungry for revenge against her husband and his new squeeze? Were her actions that fateful night a window into her true nature?

Too Close viewers furious as ITV freezes during the last ten minutes of the finale

Too Close viewers were left outraged last night after ITV froze during an ad break - meaning fans missed vital scenes in the finale. Taking to Twitter, audiences at home complained that the programme stopped playing during an advertisement for home furnishings retailer ScS  - with some saying it didn t resume for around twenty minutes. The three-part series, which concluded last night, follows London-based forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robertson (played by Emily Watson) as she assesses the sanity of Connie Mortensen (Denise Gough), a yummy mummy accused of attempted murder.  But as viewers waited to discover why Connie tried to kill her daughter and a neighbour s child by driving off a bridge with them in the car, ITV froze, leaving fans fuming.
