MOST dealerships on Jules Street in Malvern, Joburg, have no paperwork to operate or even sell secondhand cars.
This was revealed on Tuesday, 8 June when the Gauteng office of consumer affairs, which falls under the economic development department, conducted inspections in the area along with police.
Sanele Mthuli from the office told Daily Sun there was zero compliance in the area.
“Since we’ve been here, officers have been issuing fines of about R2 000 to suppliers selling cars without being registered to sell cars,” she said.
