Alexander Simone hasn’t just been passing the time during the pandemic.
Case in point, he dropped the richly grooved single, “Passing Time,” along with a cache of other releases, in the last 13 months. Simone and his band, Whodat?, have not been spending Covid time on the sidelines.
“Now you re going to see the people who s in this for the love, or you re going to see people who was in this for the money,” said Simone of Asbury Park. “My band through this whole thing, we ain’t been getting paid for shows and that nonsense, but we stayed rehearsing, meeting up twice a week and now we re benefiting the fruit of that. We re starting to get booked now and these are all paying gigs. It s beautiful.”
