The Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva invites the public to help it empower women by taking part in “Peek at the Unique Repurposed,” a one-time event for 2021 that replaces the club’s traditional three-hour tour of island homes. Working within COVID-19 guidelines, the club has designed this year’s fundraiser to feature a virtual auction of re-imagined furniture and décor, plus new art donated by local artists, along with the opportunity to have one’s valuables informally appraised by local experts. Proceeds will be awarded in grants to organizations whose mission of empowerment mirrors Zonta’s own. Since 2002, “Peek” has enabled the club to distribute over $1 million in grants to area non-profits.
