who fought against each other in 1862. survived the war, came out alive and remain friends after the war and here they are at age 100 sitting on the porch talking about the old days. the university came to the collection in 1985 from the arkansas gazette foundation and the patterson family. high school s daughter married into the family so that is why their gift came from those. it was a large collection. it is the largest private collection on arkansas material to come to any university in the state. we are very pleased to have it. the arkansas literary festival will be held in little rock april 122 the 15th. the yearly festival going on since 2004 features nonfiction and fiction writers from the state and around the country. for more information visit arkansas literary festival.org. louise bennett appeared on booknotes in 1996 to talk about the military and private life of general george custer. in her book, professor burnett to fix pics of fix a man who never adjusted
