In a tumultuous 12 months for Australiaâs small-to-medium (SME) businesses, one in four were unable to secure funding in 2020 during the pandemic, according to the recently released
SME Banking Insights 2021 report undertaken by Judo Bank.
Interestingly, in a year when government support was available and abundant in response to the Covid crisis through a range of targeted initiatives, the major banks failed to step up, with a retraction in overall SME lending for the period.
